Faruk Dalhatu is a seasoned media professional with over 14 years of experience in media development in northern Nigeria. He has demonstrated strong leadership and business acumen, having directed a team of over 265 that established Freedom Radio in Kano, Nigeria, and grew its revenue by more than 500 times in 10 years. Faruk’s work with DANDAL KURA RADIO has been significant in countering the narratives of Boko Haram and helping communities recover from the insurgency. Mr. Faruk has a proven track record in working with business partners and sponsors in the commercialization aspects of media outlets. Under his leadership, Freedom Radio received over 500 certificates, commendations, and awards by various bodies at home and abroad, and partnered with over 100 bodies and causes for the promotion of public good. In addition to his media development experience, Faruk has held several other roles, including Publisher/CEO of Freedom Newspapers Limited and Vice Chairman/CEO of Highland Waters Nigeria Limited. He is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media.
